LAKEPORT >> Mendocino College Lake Center will host two Saturday morning workshops for people in Lake and Mendocino counties involved with nonprofits on Oct. 11 and Oct. 25.
“Nonprofit Organization 101” will be led by Terry Fries, a member of the Mendocino College faculty, a Lake County resident and a consultant to more than 80 not-for-profit organizations and professional associations that have raised more than $200 million dollars with his coaching.
The group will discuss the three key responsibilities of volunteer board members, how to move from over-dependence on government grants and how to embrace the growing opportunities for consolidation with other organizations to reduce cost and increase program strength. Topics will also include key areas in governance and fund raising for nonprofit organizations.
