WASHINGTON D.C. >> The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded the Lake County Housing Commission $63,232 in grants from the HUD”s Family Self-Sufficiency Program.
“These funds help families live better lives,” Carol Huchingson, executive director of the Lake County Housing Commission, said. “This new grant will provide funding that helps people continue the path to self-sufficiency.”
The grants allow public housing agencies to work with social service agencies, community colleges, businesses and other local partners to help public housing residents and individuals participating in HUD”s Housing Choice Voucher Program to increase their education or gain marketable skills.
