KELSEYVILLE >> A manufactured home in Kelseyville was completely destroyed by a structure fire early Wednesday morning.

Shortly before 1 a.m., Kelseyville Fire Protection District (KFPD) responded to the fire with two engines, according to KFPD Capt. Paul Scott. The Lakeport Fire Protection District responded with one engine and CAL FIRE responded with three engines.

“CAL FIRE responded because of the fire potentially extending into wildland surrounding the house,” Scott said. “Which didn”t happen.”

A total of 19 firefighters responded.

There were no injuries from the fire, Scott said. Four adults and one child were in the home when the fire started.

Due to the nature of the blaze, it required an hour for firefighters to claim the initial knockdown. They worked successfully to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading beyond the grounds. The last unit left the scene at approximately 5:45 a.m., following extensive overhaul of the scene.

Despite the complete loss of the house, a lot of the family”s personal property was recovered.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, Scott said. However, foul play is not suspected.
