For many, many years I have watched the Lake County Planning Commission turned many things down that were truly unnecessary. But I give them credit today for giving Calpine a grading permit for their project. That was smart thinking on the County”s part.
Calpine has been a good asset to Lake County for many years and any time they want to do something they have to fight tooth and nail, even though they have been up front about everything. Now and in the past I understand people that do not like the steam wells, but the steam wells are where they are and if you don”t like the steam wells instead of addressing things that are non-factual-if I lived up there myself and I did not like Calpine or the steam wells the smartest thing I think I could do is move someplace else where I liked because Calpine fees and expansion has always served the Ccunty with a fantastic source of revenue. That has actually saved your property taxes from going way up.
So I think it is time to say thank you to Calpine and the rest of us to wake up and smell the coffee or the money which ever you prefer. Because some of us which I never believed in myself always want to be part of some type of turmoil to make the other guy look bad and ourselves look good.
