As all Lake County taxpayers know, the county has had it rough the last few years financially, and I have an idea that I think would work, help the County of Lake, be an asset to all the taxpayers of Lake County.

I believe that the county should borrow the money and purchase Konocti Harbor Inn on the lake. The other morning I was at Rotten Robbie getting gas and here comes five county pickups for gas, with two men per pickup, towing air boats to go and do some kind of work on Clear Lake. So if the county owned Konocti Harbor those boats could be housed there permanently and be right in the middle of all the activity regarding any problems in Clear Lake.

It has been a proven asset in the past for the plumbers union and could be a proven asset for the County of Lake. The county has jail inmates who could cut the lawn, do painting, minor repairs, and help get the premises sparkling again. Lake County could have someone like Greg Bennett, who managed it in the past, or hire someone and have wine tasting, concerts, activities that could use all the facilities, all the rooms for any type of convention. That is an ideal place. That is the only one in the County and there is no other like it in California.

Whenever you read in the paper any time there is concerts and different types of shows they are held some other place with sold out crowds-we could have the sold out crowds here and would help Lake County big time financially and this would give the county a chance to have cash flow income and not out of the taxpayers hides. Because any time a County of any size has a cash flow business like it was for many, many years for the plumbers union it is a success.
