UKIAH >> Business owners, entrepreneurs and perspective business owners can attend a free-of-charge small business seminar Friday at the Ukiah Valley Conference Center.

The Governor”s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) and the city of Ukiah are co-sponsoring the seminar and encourage local entrepreneurs to attend and learn information.

Representatives from the Board of Equalization (BOE), Employment Development Department, Franchise Tax Board, GO-Biz, Small Business Administration, Economic Development & Financing Corporation and Mendocino Small Business Development Center will give presentations.

Seminar topics include basic sales and use tax, forms of ownership, employee or independent contractor, small business loans and services, record keeping, marketing your business and permit assistance for small businesses.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Check in begins at 8:30 a.m.

The Ukiah Valley Conference Center is located at 200 S. School St. in Ukiah.
