The Clear Lake Campus of Yuba College has added a late start class to begin on Oct. 27. In response to community expressed needs the college has added a beginning, basic computer class for this semester.
Yuba College officials explained they receive many calls from people that want help with simple, basic computer tasks. Sometimes when students enroll for a computer class at the college the adult learner will feel overwhelmed. This class was designed to assist those that are unfamiliar with technology.
The class is designed for the novice, senior citizen or community member with limited computer experience. The class will cover the basics of computer hardware, a brief overview of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point, how to use the World Wide Web and what to consider when purchasing the home computer, lap top or tablet.
“We”ll cover all the basics and help the novice user to feel comfortable,” instructor Mickie Main said. “We”ll cover operating systems and why we love them!” Community members wishing to enroll may do so on line at www.yccd.edu or come down to the college for personal assistance.
