WILLITS >> Even if Lower Lake head coach Justin Gaddy wasn”t around at the end to see it, the Lower Lake Trojans raced out to a 27-0 lead before beating the Willits Wolverines 40-20 in a North Central League I varsity football game on Friday night in Willits.
Isazah King was not only the star of the game for the Trojans (2-3 league, 4-4 overall), but its superstar. The senior quarterback rushed for 302 yards and four touchdowns on 31 carries and passed for another 175 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a 75-yard TD run called back on a penalty.
Gaddy was ejected by game officials in the fourth quarter for protesting non-calls by the officials after Lower Lake players were repeatedly hit out of bounds by Willits players.
“It happened like five times,” Gaddy said. “I protested and they tossed me.”
Lower Lake was penalized 18 times.
Lower Lake”s junior varsity squad won 28-0.
