TOMALES >> The Upper Lake Cougars generated little in the way of the offense while falling 40-0 under the lights to the Tomales Braves on Friday night during a North Central League II varsity football game in Tomales.

Upper Lake coach Frank Gudmundson said the Cougars did not move the ball into Tomales territory during the game.

While the offense struggled, the defense played marginally better compared to the first meeting this season between the two teams, a 42-0 Tomales win back on Oct. 4 in Upper Lake. Derek Di Andrea led the Cougars with 14 total tackles, Junior Serrano had 10 tackles and recovered a fumble, and Kyle Karlsson and Andrew Redder added seven tackles apiece.

Upper Lake drops to 0-4 in league play and 0-8 overall. Tomales is 3-1 and 6-2.
