LAKEPORT >> Curry”s Furniture is the winner for the Lake County Arts Council”s Shipwreck Day window decorating contest.
After careful consideration of the six stores that participated, the judges rendered their decision, and had this to say about the top three:
“Curry”s Furniture [had a] focused and well thought-out presentation with water, island sand, footprints, lighted palm trees and carried the theme into the store — good marketing. There were very graphic items in the display relating to a shipwreck and/or pirates. They had well-focused display that clearly made the message.
“Second Time Around put a great amount of thought into the multiple displays and all were very good and interesting, though they mostly showcased pirates rather than a shipwreck. A suggestion would be to highlight or concentrate on one window as the showcase in the future.
“Pieces Boutique also put a great amount of time and talent into putting together these wonderful female pirate costumes (someone should grab them just for fun or for a future event.) Dana and crew really showcased their talent in their ability to put together wonderful ensembles. They skillfully brought the two store front window collections together to show as one unit.”
Also participating in the contest were Flowers by Jackie, Miller”s Jewelry and Oh Sweet Sugar.
