LAKEPORT >> A benefit spaghetti dinner with a full bar, raffle and silent auction will be held at the Lakeport Senior Activity Center on Nov. 15 from 5 to 11 p.m. to raise funds for Officer Jarvis Leishman and his family.
Leishman has been with the Lakeport Police Department (LPD) for nearly 12 years, and has served as a school resource officer and a patrol officer.
Last year, Leishman battled with a debilitating illness and had several hospital stays that left him unable to work. In addition to that, a benign mass was discovered in his chest that was life threatening and surgery was needed to remove it, keeping Jarvis from being able to return to work.
The Leishman family is burdened with medical bills that they cannot pay without him working. His benefits from the city of Lakeport are now coming to an end due to being off work for close to one year.
Ticket costs are $20 for adults and $3 for children younger than 12 years old. Tickets can be purchased at the LPD station, District Attorney”s office, Meals on Wheels Thrift Store, Linda”s Hallmark Store and through Christina Basor.
