Last year Lower Lake High School established four College and Career Pathways. In its second year of implementation, students are already benefiting from the exciting new courses. College and Career Pathways are designed to ensure that students have the skills and qualifications necessary to attend college, continue technical training, or enter the workforce upon graduating high school.

While receiving a quality core program, LLHS now offers four pathways for students to choose from. During the 2014-2015 school year students can choose from:

Engineering, Architecture, and Transportation

Health Science, Medical, Child Development, Education, and Emergency Services

Hospitality, Tourism, Recreation and Agriculture

Arts, Media, and Entertainment

As part of the Arts, Media and Entertainment Pathway, students engage in Radio and TV Broadcasting. The Lower Lake High School Media Department produces a Morning News Bulletin which is filmed on a green screen in “Studio 27” on the LLHS campus. These are broadcast throughout the school and on YouTube. Students also broadcast live football games and other events. Stagecraft students are learning set design and professional makeup techniques. The art classes engage students through cartooning and photography. LLHS continues to offer a full music program, drama, and dance in the new dance studio.

New LLHS Principal Jessica Tailaferro is committed to offering a diverse range of opportunities for students.

“The College and Career pathways program is designed to ensure that every student leaves high school with the opportunity to be inspired about a plan for their future and a clear plan for achieving success,” she said.
