LAKE COUNTY >> The next Redbud Audubon field trip will take place at Lakeside County Park on Nov. 22 at 9 a.m. The nature walk was originally scheduled for Shollenberger Park in Petaluma, but due to drought conditions the wetlands and ponds along the Napa River at the park are dry.
Lakeside County Park is perfect for a stroll near the lake and is often the site of interesting shore birds, raptors, and sometimes the Yellow-headed Blackbird. Walkers will meet in the parking lot on the east side of the park, near the launching ramp. Attendees are advised the walk should be easy, but to wear good shoes. Attendees should also bring water, a snack and binoculars.
The walk is open to the public. The park is located at 1985 Park Dr. off Soda Bay Rd.
