KELSEYVILLE >> The Lake County Theatre Company will soon host auditions for its upcoming comedy, “Five Women Wearing the Same Dress,” scheduled for Nov. 20 and 22 at 6 p.m. at the Gard Street Multipurpose Room.
This play has a small cast of five women and one man who range in age from 18 to early 40s. During an over-the-top wedding reception at an upper class estate, five reluctant, identically dressed bridesmaids hide out in an upstairs bedroom, each with her own reason to avoid the proceedings below.
The motley crew of bridesmaids consists of Georganne, upset over her own failed marriage; the sweet but sheltered Frances; the wise-cracking lesbian Mindy; the rebellious and secretive Meredith and Trisha, a jaded beauty who eventually makes a connection with Tripp, the play”s only male character. The performances are scheduled for February 13 through March 1. Those interested in auditioning are encouraged to read the play ahead of time to become familiar with the characters.
