Senior center hosts caregiver workshops
CLEARLAKE >> The Redwood Caregiver Resource Center (RCRC) is continuing the monthly Caregiver Workshop series at Highlands Senior Service Center (HSSC).
The next RCRC workshop will be held on Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m.
The film presentation will be “Complaints of a Dutiful Daughter,” an Oscar-nominated documentary of one woman”s experience caring for her mother with Alzheimer”s disease.
The discussion following will be on living with ambiguous loss and anticipatory grief, adjusting to new ways of interacting with a cognitively-impaired loved one, setting realistic expectations and the importance of self-care to manage stress and remain flexible.

Learn to manage a budget
CLEARLAKE >> The last WestAmerica “Basic Budgeting” seminar will be held at Highlands Senior Service Center on Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
The Basic Budgeting seminar is designed to give participants the knowledge to successfully manage money to become self-sufficient.
Participants will receive information on the real cost of credit cards, different types of expenses, ideas to encourage saving, how to improve credit scores, how to balance a checkbook, how to manage a checking account and debit cards. They will also receive a free-of-charge WestAmerica Basic Budgeting guide booklet. The workshop is open to everyone and there is no need to preregister.

Center hosts holiday dinner
LAKEPORT >> The Lakeport Senior Activity Center will serve a Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All ages are welcome at no charge.
Additionally, the center is always looking for volunteers. For more information, call 263-4218 OR 263-6174.

Medicare counseling available
CLEARLAKE >> The Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) offers free-of-charge Medicare Counseling appointments at Highlands Senior Service Center for Medicare beneficiaries who have questions about insurance issues and their healthcare coverage.
The annual election period runs through Dec. 7.

Pizza benefit slated to help elderly
LOWER LAKE >> Highlands Senior Service Center (HSSC) is hosting an all-you-can-eat pizza fundraiser at DJ”s Pizza on Dec. 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
There will be a bake sale and a 50/50 raffle, with the raffle drawing at 7:15 p.m. Entrants need not be present to win.
Tickets for all-you-can-eat pizza cost $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Tickets are now available at HSSC, located at 3245 Bowers Ave. in Clearlake, and at the Meals on Wheels Thrift Store, located at 13773 Lakeshore Drive in Clearlake.
DJ”s Pizza is located at 16135 Main St. in Lower Lake.
