The Lake Community PRIDE Foundation thanks Calpine Corporation for their generous donation of pork and beef to the Safe House of Lake County. Calpine purchased the locally grown meat, had it professionally butchered and packaged, and then distributed it between the local senior centers and the Safe House. The Safe House residents each cook a meal once a week. The meat we received is challenging the residents to learn new cooking methods and recipes. Each meal now is a culinary adventure thanks to Calpine”s community-mindedness and support.
