LAKEPORT >> The annual downtown Christmas celebration, Very Merry Main Street, takes place Nov. 29. from 2 to 7 p.m.

Santa will be at BiCoastal Media from 2 to 5 p.m. Pheeperz Photography will take photos with Santa for $5 each, and Hospice of Lake County has donated free stuffies for each child visiting Santa.

The children”s arts and craft booths will be set up and ready to go from 2 to 5 p.m. at Museum Park. The Lakeport Main Street Association (LMSA) is still accepting applications for volunteers and nonprofits for the arts and craft booths for the event. All applicants will receive a $50 stipend to help with the cost of the materials for a kiddy craft booth.

LMSA is still in the process of collecting donations from businesses and individuals for the prizes for the elf hunt. To donate a prize, contact the office at 263-8843 and someone will come pick up the appreciated prize donation. Donation receipt will be given at the time of pick up.

The Holiday Lighted Parade will begin at 6 p.m. from Martin Street and precede down Main Street. For more information on participating, contact the Lake County Chamber of Commerce at 263-5092.

Lighted Holiday Decorating Contest

Prizes for the decorating contests will be $200 for first-place, $100 for second-place and $50 for third-place winners in both the business and residential categories.

The judging will take place the second week of December, and winners will be announced at the Dec. 16 Lakeport City Council meeting shortly after 6 p.m. The winners will be notified by telephone prior to the meeting.
