LAKE COUNTY >> Despite the overwhelming success of the Mr. Lake County Pageant, which raised more than $10,000 for their building fund, the Lake County Theatre Company (LCTC) continues to be homeless this holiday season. However, in effort to maintain a positive attitude and be filled with the Christmas spirit, they”ve decided to spread some holiday cheer by donning their gay apparel as “The Crummy Christmas Carolers” to sing at homes and businesses.
Unfortunately, since they are without a permanent theater home, they haven”t really had anywhere to practice, so they aren”t very good.
“In fact, we are pretty awful,” stated Laura Barnes. “But we are going out in the community to sing anyway.”
LCTC members may very well show up, fully costumed with song books in hand, to sing at your doorstep. If they show up to spread holiday cheer at your home or business, and you are less than thrilled with the performance, a small donation of $10 to the LCTC building fund will send them on their merry way. For a $20 donation, they will leave and go sing carols at a place of your choosing. For $40, they will leave, go to a place of your choosing and promise not to return, even if somebody tries to pay them to go back.
“You can also call us up and arrange for us to visit somebody else”s home or business in advance, without us visiting you first,” Barnes said. “What a unique gift for a friend, family member, or annoying coworker.”
All donations will go directly to the LCTC building fund. The Crummy Christmas Carolers will be spreading holiday cheer on Dec. 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20. For information, or to send the carolers to someone”s home or business, contact Laura Barnes at 533-3406 or ewinglaura@rocketmail.com.
