MIDDLETOWN >> Kaleigh Alves of Middletown is the MVP on the 2014 edition of the All-North Central League I girls” soccer team as recently selected by the league”s eight coaches.

Alves, the leading scorer for the Mustangs. guided Middletown to a seventh straight league championship and a 15-3-3 record overall under the leadership of first-year coach Amy Emerson.

Middletown and Clear Lake (16-6-3) landed five players each on the All-League team.

Joining Alves, a junior, on the All-League squad were teammates and fellow juniors Rosie Emerson, Ashlyn Welton and Megan Touros, and sophomore Caitlin Lemoine.

Middletown reached the North Coast Section Division III semifinals before being eliminated by St. Vincent.

For Clear Lake, seniors Emily Hayes, Hannah Norwood, Maddie Wynacht and Rory Ottolini all made the team as did their teammate, junior Mina Werner.

Clear Lake advanced as far as the sectional quarterfinals before losing to Middletown.

Kelseyville and Lower Lake each had one player honored. For Kelseyville, it was junior Caroline Contreras. For Lower Lake, it was Rosalinda Cuevas.
