HALF MOON BAY >> Kailei Foltmer collected a fourth-place medal in the 131-pound division for the Middletown Mustangs on Friday during the Peninsula Tournament for girls” wrestlers at Half Moon Bay.
Middletown sent four wrestlers to the season-opening event. Isabella Quintana finished fifth at 150 pounds while Angela Egger took fifth at 101 pounds. Tiyanna Meese just missed placing with a 2-2 record at 131 pounds.
Medals were awarded to the top four in each weight class while the top six placed.
“It was a great way to start the season,” Middletown coach Brian Hunt said. “We came out and wrestled strong.”
Hunt will take his boys to the Coastal Mountain Conference Novice Tournament today at Lower Lake High School.
