LAKE COUNTY >> The following facilities will be closured for the Christmas holiday.
The Eastlake Landfill at 16015 Davis St. in Clearlake and the Public Services office in Lakeport will be closed Dec. 24 and 25, re-opening on Dec. 26. Normal landfill operating hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. The Public Services office normal operational hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Lake County Waste Solutions (LCWS) Transfer Station at 230 Soda Bay Rd. in Lakeport will be closed Dec. 25 and re-open Dec. 26 under normal operational hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Residential and commercial collection for Thursday and Friday for that week will occur one day after the normal pick up day.
Christmas trees can be dropped off from Dec. 29 through Jan. 10 at LCWS, at the Southlake Refuse & Recycling (SRR) drop off located at the Eastlake Landfill from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily and at Quackenbush Buyback/Drop Off located at 16520 Davis St. from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
LCWS accepts many other recyclable materials.
LCWS and SRR will be providing for their customers free curbside Christmas tree recycling. Cut trees into three foot pieces, place them into your green waste container on your regular pick up day and make sure the lid will shut. Please remove all ornaments, lights and tinsel for all Christmas tree recycling; no flocked trees will be accepted.
