With the rising lake level and all the creeks pouring water into Clear Lake, boaters should be aware of floating logs and other debris in the lake.
Over the weekend, several boaters reported seeing large submerged logs, brush and even trees floating in the lake. The mouth of Kelsey Creek near the Clear Lake State Park is one of the hazard areas. The mouth of Rodman Slough is another area to be extra careful.
With a major storm forecast to arrive be the end of the week the lake level is expected to continue to rise and more trees and other debris will be washed into the lake.
Boaters should also always wear their life vests when out on the water.
