LAKEPORT >> Judging takes place this week for the Lakeport Main Street Association”s annual Lighted Holiday Decorating Contest. Winners will be announced at the Dec. 16 Lakeport City Council meeting shortly after 6 p.m. at city hall.
The competition has business and residential categories. Prizes for the decorating contests will be $200 for first-place, $100 for second-place and $50 for third-place winners in both the business and residential categories.
The judging criteria will be for originality, arrangement, theme and overall presentation. Businesses will also be judged for use of product or services displayed in the decoration.
Judges include two representatives from the city of Lakeport, two from the main street association and two from the Lake County Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, a representative from the Lake County Arts Council will judge.
The final listing of participating businesses will be posted online Thursday at www.lakeportmainstreet.com.
