I read Mac McKay”s letter and thought it was a reprint of his last letter. Then I read “My view is” and “my opinion” and concluded that these are only lies to Mr. McKay. Mr. McKay, if you read my letter you will not see any accusation of you calling anyone stupid. However, I am still unable to find any reference to the Democrats doing so. I do see at factcheck.org (I hope you consider them political neutral) that says, about Gruber, many Republicans say he was “the architect” of the law, but also states “Those who worked closely on the law say he ran economic models to determine the outcome of certain proposals.” I would say this makes him part of the team but not an architect. So, do we interpret Obama”s not part of the team to mean the team of architects? This would be opinion on both sides and would need to be taken in context. It certainly means that the ”stupid” comment is Gruber”s opinion and does not reflect that of the architect”s of the law.
Fact: Nancy Pelosi is quoted as saying, “I don”t know who he is. He didn”t help write our bill.” Newsmax interprets this as, ”Pelosi told reporters that she had never heard of John Gruber, a man widely thought to be one of the architects in helping create Obamacare.” Is it possible that she meant that she was baffled by his comments and so no longer understood his intentions as before? This would definitely make me say, ”I don”t know who he is.” And, ”widely thought to be one of the architects?” None of the actual architects think so.
So Gruber”s comment that ”he had made the bill vague” should be discounted. And the lame stream media? You forgot to include Fox News. Anyway I don”t get my news from TV. Don”t like the sound bites. I need some actual content. Mr. McKay”s last comment on Obama”s evolution made me smile. Wasn”t it Ronald Reagan who cut taxes his first year and raised them his second? And George H. W. Bush who campaigned with ”No more taxes” and gave us more taxes when in office. Looks like you can”t trust conservatives to keep their word either.
