A Spring Valley man suspected of murdering his wife late Saturday night is being held in the Lake County Jail.
Just before 10 p.m. on Saturday, 911 operators reportedly received a call from Marc Clark, 58, alleging that he had shot his wife, Linda Clark. According to Lt. Steve Brooks, the Lake County Sheriff”s Office responded, along with emergency care units from the Northshore Fire Protection District.
Linda Clark died as a result of her wounds. Deputies arrested Clark immediately and he was booked early Sunday morning.
The incident took place at the Clark”s residence on Wolf Creek Road in Spring Valley.
A few neighbors reported hearing at least one gunshot, although authorities have not released that information. Ken Wells, who lives in the area, said as the story spread there were some differences in the number of shots heard.
The couple had no prior contact with law enforcement, according to Brooks. According to Sheriff”s Office arrest reports, Marc Clark was born on Dec. 25, 1955 in San Francisco.
The last murder to occur in Spring Valley took place in 2000.
