REDWOOD VALLEY >> The Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians is one of the largest employers in Mendocino County, with over 165 employees combined from Coyote Valley Casino and the Tribal Government—located off Highway 101, in Redwood Valley, California.

The Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians employees, including the Coyote Valley Casino and Tribal Government Operation employees, will receive the minimum wage increase to $10.10 per hour. This minimum wage increase exceeds both the California state minimum wage of $9 per hour and the Federal minimum wage rate of $7.25 per hour. This change will become effective January 1, 2015.

The Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians Tribal Council understands the increased costs of living and budgetary hardships of their tribal members and employees. Tribal Chairman Michael Hunter says, “Providing a living wage, health insurance and a 401(k) for our employees is a moral obligation and is good business. The more our employees have to spend, the more our community can thrive.”

The Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians currently offers their employees a comprehensive benefits program, and over the past two years they have introduced a Healthy Lifestyle Program which emphasizes health education, weight control, healthy diet, smoke cessation and diabetic prevention programs.
