LAKEPORT >> The 1965 epic, “Dr. Zhivago,” screens on Jan. 13 with show times at 1 and 6 p.m.
Winner of five Academy Awards, the film stars Omar Sharif and Julie Christie and is set in Russia during the Bolshevik revolution and World War I. British director David Lean made the film from Boris Pasternak”s book, which was banned in Russia at the time of filming. Sweeping cinematography and a compelling musical score bring life to the passionate but doomed romance between the high society doctor/poet of the film”s title and Lara, the beautiful daughter of a seamstress.
This film is rated PG-13 for mature themes. Entry is by donation.
