In the Dec. 9 Record-Bee Kevin Bracken stated: “I have researched several other religious explanations that the writers say are the truth and they differ from Bill”s.”
It”s not unusual for Christians to have different views on doctrinal truth but there is no disagreement among Christians concerning core spiritual truth which is that we need to be ”born again”. On this we are united.
Concerning spiritual truth, back in May Kevin stated: “I believe in evolution and not in God.” In his Nov. 21 letter Kevin stated: “I desire to know the truth.” If we really want to know the truth then we have to walk in it. It”s not a lack of information that separates us from the truth but a lack of willingness to do God”s will. If we want to have an enlightened mind then we must walk in the light we have. Otherwise we will remain in darkness and no amount of religious information will be able to change that.
More than once Greg Blinn has stated that there are many books that are far more interesting than the Bible. If we are reading the Bible for entertainment or simply for information then we are short-changing ourselves. However, if we read it to know God”s will then we will come to realize that Christianity is a very practical thing that can change our lives forever.
