The A team
For the coming 2016 Presidential race, this Progressive Liberal voter would love to see this team for our leadership. For our President, Hillary would be my choice, the following reasons: The time she has spent in learning how the game is played in D.C. The fact that she would have a veteran adviser at her side, even thought she will prove to be a leader who has a mind of her own as well as an agenda she will champion, based on her growth as a person over the years and her liberal leanings, not as far left as my own I have to say. The breaking of the glass ceiling for women of our nation is very important and she is the person who has the best chance of doing it.
For Vice President, I would keep Joe Biden, who would work well with Hillary, filling the role of attack dog when asked to be such. He also would bring the concerns of the average citizen to those meetings of the minds in implementing or adjusting our nation”s policies. He also would be a person who if needed could step into the role of president and bring the skills to do just it competently.
To fill a seat on the Supreme Court, our then former president, Barack Obama, would be great, due to his skills, education and proven leadership with his concerns for the middle classes living standards and the constitutional legal intellect to protect the right”s of all our nation”s citizens. I also would appoint an Afro-American woman, with a proven legal background for a second seat on the bench if an opening came. I would leave Elizabeth Warren in the Senate to chair the Committee on Banking, where her understanding and power would rein and remove those parties and CEO”s who gamble with the financial health of our citizens. Bernie Sanders would be a wonderful member of the presidential cabinet as Secretary of Labor.
For Secretary of State, John Kerry would bring his positive skills and relationships with the leadership he has developed to further the view of our nation as not being one who uses force to solve every problem that upsets Corp. America around the World. For Attorney General, The incoming candidate for that position would be an excellent member of this leadership team. For the Surgeon General, a nurse with the highest proven skills of nursing, not any doctors whose relationships with the drug manufactures have become far to close, would be my choice, as it is the nursing sector of our medical care system that has the compassion, understanding of patients welfare and needs, to be the voices of being patient advocates, that would best lead that department.
A new position with maximum authority of enforcement would be added to represent the needs and problems of the mentally challenged. For the Joint Chiefs of Staff leadership, I would bring a top flight, proven progressive Air Force Commander to fill those shoes in this era of drones that have proven to be so effective. For leadership for the cabinet position that leads our nation”s educational programs, I would appoint the head of a board made up of the finest experts of the many scientific communities.
Finally, I would appoint a board to begin to develop a plan to upgrade our nation”s Constitution and Bill of Rights. They would lay down a plan to bring improvements to our ongoing, aged laws governed by those documents which when thoroughly discussed and agreed upon, would be present to all this nation”s citizens to vote on.
I would be interested to hear from what the conservative”s A team would look like. As a believer in our two party system, I hope in the future that the GOP will bring to the top, persons who reflect a concern for all our citizens, rather then those who pander to the special interest sector of this nation, a person whose efforts are for the betterment of our nation as whole, over making state”s rights at the top of their agenda. No good comes from groups of like minded thinking as this only fosters radical thinking and results.

Fooling themselves
I went looking for shoes in Clearlake recently. I searched out locally owned merchants and bypassed Wal-Mart, believing that if I shopped locally I would benefit my community. I found two local places, but the owners of these businesses sell drug pipes along with children”s shoes. They consciously target the teen population with their merchandise. When I asked the owners why they were selling the drug pipes they assured me that they did not use such items. I told them of course not, you couldn”t operate a business if you did. They went on to tell me how taking drugs helps cure brain tumors. I reminded them that morphine helps in surgery but it doesn”t help a community. It seemed dishonest to equate these people selling drug pipes with a physician who has studied for years to fight disease. They want esteem and respect all the while their actions generate contempt. I asked them if they noticed a link between drugs and youth crime in our area and perhaps it would be better if merchants hired young men instead of selling them drug pipes. They just laughed.
These adults should be ashamed of themselves.
For the love of money is the root of all evil.
