KELSEYVILLE >> The fifth annual American Legion Unit 194 spaghetti feed will take place Friday at the Kelseyville American Legion Hall at Second Street and Gaddy Lane from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Each year, unit 194 selects outstanding girls from Kelseyville, Clear Lake and Upper Lake high schools to attend the week-long program.
The “California Girls State Program,” as it”s called, is a leadership program of the American Legion Auxiliary designed to increase awareness and knowledge of governmental processes while learning about the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of citizenship. Funding for the program is generated through the annual spaghetti feed.
The menu includes spaghetti, bread, salad and dessert. Patrons will have a choice of sausage or vegetarian sauce. Adult tickets are $7, tickets for children under 12 are $4 and children younger than the age 4 eat free. There is also a $20 family special. The event is all-you-can-eat, with dine-in or take-out options available.
