LAKEPORT >> A career game for Kelseyville”s Ean Valenzuela made it a great Friday night for his teammates and Knights fans during a 51-48 North Central League I win over the Clear Lake Cardinals at Lakeport.
Kelseyville improved to 4-0 in league play and 13-3 overall behind Valenzuela”s double-double performance of 26 points and 14 rebounds.
“He had a manchild-type game,” Kelseyville coach Rich Facey said. “He had a great rebounding night first of all. He just decided he didin”t want to be denied.”
Gideon Turner added 11 points for the Knights while Nate Carpenter had 10. Trey Conrad scored only four points but played great defense, according to Facey.
“Outstanding defense,” Facey said.
Tanner Hutton led Clear Lake (2-2) with 13 points while Ryan Damiata and Max De Leon added 11 apiece.
“They just played really well,” Clear Lake coach Phil Psalmonds said of the Knights, who are tied with Lower Lake for the league lead.

Willits 30
At Willits, even short-handed, the Lower Lake Trojans generated enough offense and defense to beat the Willits Wolverines in NCL I play.
Lower Lake (4-0) kept pace with Kelseyville atop the league standings minus one of its top players, Garrett Chernoh, who moved up to a Lower Lake varsity team that was without three of its players because of the flu.
Ethan Watson led the Trojans with 13 points, Tate Smith added nine and Jerome Watson had eight.
Roseland Prep 48
Upper Lake 40
At Upper Lake, the Upper Lake Cougars fell to Roseland Prep in NCL II action. Robert Neils and Tim Beffa scored 10 points apiece for Upper Lake while Nate Sneed and Kahlil George each had nine.

Willits 34
At Lower Lake, Shayna Pike led the way with 17 points and Vanessa Hughes tossed in 11 as the Lower Lake Trojans improved to 3-1 in the NCL I standings with a victory over the Wolverines.
Clear Lake 56

At Lakeport, Valerie Hutton”s 24 points helped keep the Clear Lake Cardinals undefeated in league play and on the season as they defeated the Kelseyville Knights.
Clear Lake improved to 4-0 in league and 16-0 overall.
Upper Lake 50
Roseland Prep 36
At Upper Lake, Brenna Sanchez powered the Upper Lake Cougars with 17 points as they beat Roseland Prep in NCL II play.
KJ Taylor joined Sanchez in double figures with 11 points.
