New writers take over, gold star students announced
Hi, my name is Doyle Conatser and fellow student Danny Salvante and we will be the new writers for the Carl? Chronicle.
This week three new students, Bruce Hamilton, Kevin Hazelwood and Kristin Melcher have joined us at Carl? High School. We hope they have great success and reach their goals in this wonderful school.
The new gold level students for the third grading period are Jose Bendana, Rene Espinoza, Jasmine Heckard, Chris Nuzzo, Regina Perrin-Clanton, Daniel Salvante and Quintessa Strahl. Congratulations to them all. They will go on a gold level field trip, have off-campus privileges during lunch and also take part in the silver level movie. Secretary Barbara Dye designed awards to become part of their portfolios.
In addition, our school awarded sustainability awards to each and every student who held or bettered their levels from second to third grade periods. Each of these students will be able to work with our media class designers to make themselves a special memento.
Finally, drawings were held for our perfect attendance students and student Gage Fowler, who has had perfect attendance all year, won both drawings.
This week”s student of the week is Jose Bendana. He is a wonderful student and a deep thinker who truly is an asset to our school. Bendana is a gamer and aspiring game designer, already designing his own games. Our winner for CHILY”s this week is Robert McGraw and he chose a basketball.
We would like to thank Dr. Barry Munitz for his $1,000 donation to our media program to make plaques for our graduating seniors. We have also received a $200 donation from Dr. Howard Jaffe toward our much needed van project.
We at Carl? understand that you can read about things or experience them and the van would go a long way to us being able to do more college visits and enrichment opportunities. So far, about $3,000 dollars has been donated toward our goal.
We have Hazmat classes going on and our very own science teacher Angie Siegel is teaching the class. Next week”s article will name the students and detail their activities.
The media class is sponsoring a mouse pad contest for all students. Students who submit a design that involves Carl? High School will have it put on a mouse pad and given to them as their prize. This is a popular contest that usually has about 25 submissions out of our 88 students.
