FORESTVILLE >> Freshmen Aleia Milano and Katelyn Ferrell combined for 36 points on Thursday night as the Lower Lake Trojans routed the El Molino Lions 58-30 in non-league varsity girls’ basketball action at Forestville.
“Not bad for freshmen,” Lower Lake coach Jim Salmina said. “My other one had six points,” he added of freshman Sammi Caires.
Ashlynn Mock added 11 points, including three 3-pointers. Milano connected five times from behind the 3-point line.
“A good team win,” Salmina said as Lower Lake (5-4) climbed about the .500 mark. “I’m very happy with where we are right now.”
Lower Lake also won the JV game as Alisha King scored 11 points and Shayna Pike added eight in the Trojans’ 37-25 win. The game wasn’t as close as the final score indicated as the Trojans led 19-2 at halftime.
“King played a really, really good game,” Lower Lake JV coach Dave Milano said.

At San Rafael, Middletown outscored Terra Linda 17-1 in the second quarter and never looked back, rolling to a non-league victory over the Trojans.
Middletown (6-3) trailed 14-5 after one quarter before shifting its offense into high gear.
“We cam out flat as could be in the first quarter it wasn’t pretty,” Middletown coach Anthony Bazzano said. “In the second quarter we were playing with confidence and attacking. We took care of business.”
Ashlyn Welton led the Mustangs with 17 points while both Abby Aden and Makenzi Smith added eight apiece.
