LAKEPORT >> A boy reported as a runaway was found safely late Thursday morning in Sutter Creek, east of Sacramento, with the help of a resident who recognized him from a social media post.
The 16-year-old boy was reported missing Wednesday at about 9:30 a.m., according to Lakeport police. He was last seen leaving Clear Lake High School Monday morning and never returned home.
Someone who recognized the boy from a Facebook post contacted investigating Lakeport Police Department (LPD) officer Tyler Trouette who immediately alerted the Sutter Creek Police Department and Amador County Sheriff”s Office (ACSO) for assistance. ACSO quickly located the boy and placed him in protective custody pending his return to family, according to LPD.
