Middletown >> Alicia Lee Farnsworth will discuss her mosaic process and show off some of her work during the next gathering of Cobb Mountain Artists. The meeting takes place Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. in the community meeting room at The Middletown Senior Center.
The Artist Presents series selected the south Lake County artist best known for her mosaic landscapes with hand made ceramic tiles, welded metal sculpture, and carved wood sculptures. Farnsworth’s work has been exhibited in The EcoArts Sculpture Walk since 2005. The artist employs a wide range of techniques, technologies, and materials to create nature-inspired mosaics, dioramas and sculptures, researched and refined by digital technology. She employs ancient techniques to create metal forms, hand-carved and textured tile, custom color grouts, paint, and glazes.
Farnsworth received a BFA from Otis/Parsons in 1990. She has created a unique 78 image carved linoleum block Artful Impression Tarot deck. She is also a traditional/digital illustrator, writer, and educator.
She will discuss her process in greater depth at this event. For more info about Farnsworth’s artwork and projects email alicia@artfulalf.com. The entrance to the meeting room is on Calistoga Rd.
