So much for easing into the second half of their league schedule. The Kelseyville Knights (5-2), one game behind the Cloverdale Eagles (6-1) and Willits Wolverines (6-1) in the North Central League I varsity boys’ basketball race, travel to Cloverdale tonight in a key league game. The Eagles beat the Knights 69-55 in the NCL I opener for both teams on Jan. 6 at Cloverdale. Kelseyville could probably use another big night from Victor Fernandez (pictured above), who scored a season-best 27 points with five 3-pointers on Tuesday night in a 80-75 overtime victory over the St. Helena Saints at Kelseyville. Junior varsity action tips off at 6 p.m. and the varsity game follows at approximately 7:30 p.m. The Knights stay on the road next Tuesday to face Fort Bragg, then return home for four straight games.
