Lakeport >> The Lake County Chapter of California Women for Agriculture (LCCWA) is accepting scholarships applications from male and female graduating high school seniors and college or vocational students who are pursuing an agriculture or agri-business program and are attending a two- or four-year program as a full-time student. These scholarships are valued up to $1,000.
A few past LCCWA scholarship recipients include Lake County residents Jennifer Keithly and Lindee Jones. Keithly, second year recipient of the scholarship, continues to excel academically and is midway through her second year at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Specializing in large animals and food animals, she will graduate in 2017. Jones, third year recipient, is pursuing a career as a Pest Control Advisor. She received her Associate’s degree from Shasta College and is currently enrolled at Chico State in Plant Science with an emphasis in Crop Management.
The Lake County Chapter of LCCWA is committed to promoting agriculture at both the County and the State levels. The organization is particularly interested in supporting students from Lake County who desire a career in agriculture in an effort to maintain a healthy and vibrant agricultural industry.
Lake County graduating high school seniors and college or vocational students who have a grade point average of 3.0 or above are eligible to apply. Application materials must be received by LCCWA on or before April 1.
