Middletown >> March for Meals organizers seek sponsors for the March 28 event, as well as crafters for the craft fair.

The march is a fundraising and awareness campaign hosted by the Middletown Senior Center for Meals on Wheels, a Senior Nutrition Program authorized under the Older Americans Act, according to Middletown Senior Center Executive Director Lori Tourville.

“Meals on Wheels is a delivery program designed to assist homebound seniors (60+) in receiving a balanced nourishing meal each day,” Tourville stated. “March for Meals is a national campaign during the month of March, initiated by the Meals on Wheels Association of America, which seeks to raise awareness of senior hunger and to encourage action on the part of the local community.”

The craft fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Middletown Senior Center. The one-mile walk will begin at 11 a.m. at the senior center and will be followed by a hot dog or hamburger lunch for $6 from noon to 1 p.m.

Sponsor sheets are available at the senior center or call 987-3113. The charge for setting up a crafts table is $10 and the crafters keep the sales, only the $10 goes to the senior center.

The Middletown Senior Center is located at 21256 Washington St.
