Lakeport >> Police located a missing 15-year-old Lakeport girl in Glenn County on Friday evening. There were no injuries reported. At the same time, law enforcement officers arrested a 22-year-old male on charges of child concealment.
The Lakeport Police Department (LPD) responded to a tip from Glenn County. They located the missing girl safe at approximately 7:43 p.m. She had gone missing late Thursday afternoon.
Before she was found, the girl had last been seen at 4:45 p.m. Thursday on Main Street near the Tower Mart, according to Lakeport police. Layton called her mother to tell her she was on her way home, but did not show up.
The investigation was intense. “From the moment we took the report it has not stopped,” LPD Lt. Jason Ferguson said Friday afternoon.
The police did not immediately identify the 22-year-old male nor disclose the nature of his relationship, if any, with the girl.
