St. Helena >> On Jan. 24, personnel of the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire), Napa County Fire, Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit, assisted with a rescue of a rock climber, in the Table Scraps Rock Climbing area of Napa County. The climber fell approximately 20 feet. The climber was wearing a helmet, at the time of the fall.
Two State helicopters with crews, California Highway Patrol H32 and Cal Fire Boggs Mountain C104, assisted with the rescue. Fire and emergency medicine personnel hiked in to the incident area. California Highway Patrol Copter H32 performed the patient hoist rescue and transported the patient to a local hospital.
The condition of the rock climber is unknown, at this time.
The emergency call was made to the Cal Fire Napa County Fire, St. Helena Emergency Command Center at 1:21 PM and the rescue concluded at 2:53 PM.
