A little known area club called Tenacious Toastmasters is an ideal place to find stimulating and fun activities for adults of all ages. If you have spent the most productive years of your life learning and working to make the world a better place, this is for you. Why stop now?
You can still continue to make a difference in the world. How? Your wisdom earned “on the job” can be shared with the community in the most productive way imaginable at toastmasters meetings.
Toastmasters clubs provide a time-tested and challenging opportunity to improve your communication skills and to become a better communicator. You can learn new leadership skills and become an even better leader. At the same time you get to share your wisdom with younger members who badly need these skills to make it in the world. You can continue to learn and to share your combined skills with others.
Friendly club meetings are a great place to get your weekly “mental vitamin” our members attest to. You would be surprised who you will meet at club meetings, movers and shakers, entrepreneurs, trainers and dedicated seasoned members. New members can be assigned mentors of their choosing.
Opportunities to learn new presentation technologies and speaking skills are available to learn at your own speed and level of development. Challenging and uplifting feedback will increase your levels of self esteem. Minimal club dues are biannual, prorated and include a manual and a monthly magazine.
Tenacious Toastmasters meets weekly in a business employee break room, Allied Information Networks, 2150 Argonaut Road in Lakeport, across from Steele Winery. The owner, Eric Shaul, a club board member, has been a devoted member for many years. He is convinced toastmaster has helped him be a much more effective CEO. Meetings are Thursdays, 6:15 to 7:30 p.m.
Speech contests are available to participate in biannually. The exciting International Speech Contest is coming up in the spring and the winners move up through the districts in competition. Each year a new international Speaker of the Year emerges.

Toastmasters International has a comprehensive website chock full of training materials. The website is www.toastmastersinternational.org.
Hopefully you will never cease to learn and improve yourself. What better way to do it than with others who are doing it too? Why stop now?
