LAKEPORT >> The Hero Project is benefiting from generous support from local businesses that are focused on investing in our community.

DJ’s Pizza in Lower Lake and Cheese’s Pizza in Lakeport donated free pizza coupons which were distributed to more than 50 families for completing November’s Take a S.E.A.T (Sit-Eat-And-Talk) challenge. Funtopia Toy Store in Middletown supplied games at a discounted rate. Over 50 families received a free family game for unplugging and completing December’s TFT (Tech-Free-Time) Challenge.

Shelly Mascari, Director of the Hero Project, says, “We are incredibly grateful for the generous support from these small businesses. Thanks to their contributions, we’ve been able to add fun gifts and prizes for everyone who participates.”

Each month the Hero Project challenges Lake County parents to engage in simple but powerful parenting strategies that help their children become happy and successful adults. These challenges include reading together, unplugging, advocating, protecting, and much more. Families that complete the monthly challenge win free prizes and incentives.
