UPPER LAKE >> Jon Sparks led the way with 15 points, Chase Goetjen added 13 and Pancho Flores had 10 on Friday night as the Upper Lake Cougars notched their second win of the season, beating the Calistoga Wildcats 67-33 in North Central League II varsity boys’ basketball action at Upper Lake.

“We started pretty slow but we picked it up,” Upper Lake coach Justin Dutcher said.

Upper Lake (2-9, 2-19) outscored Calistoga in every quarter and had a 42-26 lead going to the final period.

After an 0-18 start to their season, the Cougars have won two of three. They close out their regular season next week with games against Rincon Valley, Sonoma Academy and St. Vincent.
