Hidden Valley Lake >> Soroptimist International of Clear Lake will sponsor the annual “Spring Fling Luncheon” on March 7. The event will be held at the Hidden Valley Community Center located at 18677 Lakeridge Circle. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and activities begin at noon.
The guest speaker is April Rovero, founder/CEO of National Coalition Against Prescription Drug Abuse (NCAPDA). NCAPDA was founded as a result of her son Joey’s accidental death from a lethal mixture of alcohol and prescription drugs while attending Arizona State University. NCAPDA’s mission is to reduce prescription drug related overdose deaths and addiction.
Tickets cost $35 per person and include lunch, beverage and dessert bar.
There will be a silent auction, live auction with guest auctioneer Jim Steele, and a raffle for themed baskets.
Soroptimist International of Clear Lake meets twice a month on the second and fourth Thursdays. Meetings are at noon at Howard’s Grotto in Clearlake. Soroptimist International is a nonprofit group that helps women and girls in Lake County and internationally.
