Lake County >> The Middletown High School team won the Lake County High School Mock Trial and will head to the state competition in Riverside in March.
The total cost to send a team to the state competition is almost $6,500, according to coach Janina M. Hoskins. The team and Lake County Office of Education (LCOE) only have about half of the amount for the competition held March 20 to 22.
“We have a very short window of time to raise a substantial amount of money to allow these hard working teenagers to participate in the state competition,” Hoskins stated.
Anyone interested in making a tax-deductible donation can mail funds to the LCOE and specify that the funds are for the mock trial team. The address is 1152 S. Main St., Lakeport, CA 95453 and should be sent care of Stephanie Wayment, director of Educational Resources and Accountability.
