Middletown >> EcoArts of Lake County invites artists to apply to install and exhibit sculptural work in the 13th annual EcoArts: Lake County Sculpture Walk.

The sculpture walk takes place within the 107-acre Middletown County Trailside Park.

Each year sculptural work made from and/or relating to nature are selected and sited along both sides of a 3/8-mile central trail through meadows and woodland.

Submission applications must be received by March 15. Acceptance of work will be determined by April 15 or sooner with work installed during a 12-day period May 16 through May 27. Works will remain on view until Oct. 12 and removed Oct. 13 through Oct. 20.

More than 300 sculptures by local, national and international artists have been installed during the past 12 years. Public attendance is approximately 3,000 viewers per exhibit season. EcoArts encourages schools and community groups to apply and waives application fees for nonprofits.

The organization is a nonprofit dedicated to promoting the visual arts through exhibits, education and ecological stewardship for artists, residents and visitors to Lake County.

Each year a free public reception is held to meet the artists, see the exhibit, listen to music, hear poetry, dance and make art. The free community event is open to the public and will take place June 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Middletown Trailside Park. The park is located on Dry Creek Cutoff, off Highway 175.
