Lakeport >> Vocational scholarships are once again available from the Lakeport Women’s Civic Club. Two scholarships of $1,000 each will be given to qualifying students.
All high schools, as well as Mendocino and Yuba colleges, have applications on hand and may obtained from the school counselors. Previous applicants as well as former graduates may reapply. The deadline for submissions is April 23.
An applicant must: be a Lake County resident, currently enrolled as a full-time student (carrying 12 or more units), have a 2.75 GPA in all course work attempted, list all work and community involvement, state reasons for applying for the scholarship and why the particular field and submit two letters of recommendation, one preferably from an employer.
The community relies heavily upon these services, hence it is the intent of LWCC to help further the careers of students with those goals.
