
Clearlake >> Praises of Zion Baptist Church will celebrate the sixth anniversary of Pastor Jonathan and Lori Green as ministers to their congregation on March 8 at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for two complete services. There will be guest speakers, lively music and fellowship. A hot luncheon will be served after the completion of the 10 a.m. service and everyone is invited to attend.
Pastor Green and family have been actively reaching out to the community over the years and, through his ministry, have enhanced a church that is rapidly growing and serving the spiritual needs of members of the community. He has created a church of great diversity because everyone, regardless of ethnicity, gender, social status, circumstances or age is welcomed into God’s church.
“Every time we gather we endeavor to connect people with Christ through the Word of God, and connect people with one another through fun and fellowship, and to be challenged and encouraged by the Word of God, regardless of who they are,” stated Pastor Green.
Pastor Green was born and raised in the Bay Area and grew up in Oakland. He is a graduate of Faith Evangelical Seminary in Tacoma, Washington, where he received his Master’s Degree in Divinity. He has a love of music that was instilled by his father and grandfather. Over the years his musical capabilities have excelled and he is a sought-after musician who has played for numerous churches and choirs. He has also served as president of the Music Department of the Bay Area Baptist District Association. He has brought this gift to the music program of Praises of Zion.
Lori Green is also a native of California and grew up in the Bay Area. She is a great orator as well and has been a guest speaker for numerous women, youth and children’s programs throughout the state of California. She is a graduate of Southern Marin Bible Institute with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies. She is an accomplished singer and is director of the Praises of Zion Gospel Choir and music department. She has worked in many capacities with the Bay Area Baptist Association and was the first woman president of the California State Baptist Convention Young Adult Auxiliary.
Together, Pastor and Lori Green have three daughters: Alexandria Marie, Madilyn Ann Denise and Jocelyn Ann Marie.
