Man stabbed during dispute
CLEARLAKE >> A Clearlake man was stabbed and three men arrested following an alleged dispute over family property on Saturday.
Giovanni Steffen, Jacob Steffen and Jayson Alvarez were in custody, charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon. The victim, Bret Gilliam, was trasported by REACH helicopter to a hospital in Santa Rosa with wounds that did not appear to be life threatening.
According to Clearlake Police Department reports the incident began at approximately 4:30 p.m. Alvarez and both Steffen men allegedly believed Gilliam was in possession of an item that had been owned by the late mother of the Steffen brothers.
They three confronted Gilliam a his Robinson Ave. home in Clearlake. A fight broke out and the victim was stabbed three times, in the back and buttocks. According to police reports Jacob Steffens used the weapon.
The alleged attackers then fled. Clearlake police located Alvarez and the Steffens at an Austin Dr. address and took them into custody.
Motorcycle rider injured
MIDDLETOWN >> At approximately 10:55 a.m. on Sunday, Gerard McHugh, 69, of Danville was driving his 2009 BMW motorcycle westbound on Highway 175 near Arroyo Vista Road at an unknown speed when he allowed his vehicle to exit the north roadway edge and strike a guardrail. McHugh was flown by REACH to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with a possible fractured right leg. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected in the collision which is still under investigation by Officer Matt Norton.
Car hits tree
LAKE COUNTY >> At approximately 8:15 p.m. on Sunday Joshua Herpe, 36, of Hayward was driving his 1997 Nissan Pathfinder northbound on Highway 29 near Doten Road at an unknown speed when allowed his vehicle to exit the roadway and strike a tree. Herpe was taken to Sutter Lakeside Hospital by Kelseyville Fire Ambulance with a laceration to his forehead. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the collision which is still under investigation by Officer Jeremy Jensen.
