Middletown >> The South Lake County Fire Protection District will hold their 3rd annual open house on April 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Middletown Fire Station, located at 21095 Highway 175.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ride on fire engines, tour a REACH helicopter and participate in a “meet and greet” with Smokey the Bear. Additionally, there will be a bounce house, face painting, barbeque and popcorn, as well as fire safety education, fire department t-shirts for sale, auto extrication demonstrations at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., “hands only” CPR training at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., live smoke crawls at noon and 2 p.m., and a chance to win a pair of child-sized turnouts.

All events are $1 or free and all foods under $3. 100 percent of all proceeds from the event will be donated to Middletown High School Relay for Life Cancer Walk.
